CODE
AND STANDARD COMPLIANCE
ASME Code Section VIII. ASME Code Section
III. National Board Capacity Certifications.
DESIGN
SCOPE - Sizes 1D2 [25mm D 50mm] to 8T10
[200mm T 250mm].
- Flange Classes ANSI 150 - ANSI 2500 in
accordance with the limits of API
Standard 526.
Set pressures from 3 psig [0.2 barg] to 6000 psig [414 barg]. -
Temperatures from -400°F to +1000°F [-240°C to +538°C].
-
Nineteen standard material variations for corrosive, toxic, or unique applications.
VALVE
TYPES - Model R is a conventional,
top guided, single ring, full nozzle, unbalanced
pressure relief valve. - Model
RB is a balanced bellows valve.
- Model RO is the model R with an elastomer
soft seat for improved seat leakage protection.
- Model RBO is the
model RB with soft seat.
- Model RS is an open
yoke pressure relief valve with a plain lever cap style for steam service.
- Model
JR or JRB is steam jacketed valve for applications involving viscous or polymerizing
fluids.
- Model NR or NRB is the corresponding
model meeting the requirements of ASME III.
| CAP
STYLE - Screwed cap.
-
Plain lift lever cap.
- Packed
lift lever
- Bolted
cap.
- Optional
test gag screws.
- Yoke type gag, Model TYW-3 or TYW-
5 for plain lever caps. - All R/RB models
use a threaded stem
and a drilled/tapped bonnet
to permit easy cap conversions in the field without internal parts change out. NACE
MR-0175 (H2S) SERVICE - Three
bill of material levels.
- Level
1 for compliance of wetted parts
in closed
position. - Sour gas trim for CS valve in
H2S environment.
- SS
trim for SS valve in H2S environment.
ADVANCED
DESIGN ALL MEDIA TRIM
- One trim design meets the ASME
Code Sections VIII and III performance criteria for steam, gas, vapor, and liquid
applications. No special liquid trim is required, as is required in competitive
designs. - The unique disc holder and nozzle
ring design provides stable operation on steam, gases, vapors, and liquids.
- Full capacity rating at 10% over pressure.
- Conversion liquid trim not necessary,
reducing spare parts. Superior Alignment Internal - Nozzle
threads into the valve body at
the body bowl.
The thread alignment is closer to the critical seating surface and guiding surfaces. | SUPERIOR
CORROSION RESISTANT BELLOWS - Standard
Inconel 625 provides corrosion excellent resistance and mechanical toughness.
-
No stress corrosion cracking in harsh
environments involving sour gas (H2S) or chlorides. - The
bellows threads on the disc holder with a lock nut and gasket.
-
No welded attachment permits lower cost replacement of
the bellows.
ADVANCED
DESIGN TO REDUCE SPARE PARTS
- The standard disc is reversible to provide a spare
seating surface on every part.
- Every O-ring soft seated disc retains the standard
metal seating surface on the reverse side.
- The
lower half of the stem assembly, called the Point, is not integral with the disc
holder. This permits lower cost of replacement for a critical guiding component.
Competitor designs incorporate the guiding surface on the disc holder shaft.
-
Springs within an orifice and pressure class are designed
with a fixed inside diameter to eliminate custom machined spring steps.
-
Nozzle ring is common to all pressure
ranges or seat designs within an orifice size, reducing spare parts.
COST OF OWNERSHIP
- When considering the total cost of
continued operation, maintenance, and spare parts, the Series R/RB is the leader.
It delivers exceptional performance through state of the art design features,
and provides real value to its users. Backed by our extensive repair and service
organization network, customers receive high quality, safety products which continue
our unequaled reputation as the leader in pressure relief valve. Technology for
Safety, Environmental Protection, and Productivity Improvement.
